Cosmetic Dental Bonding

Chipping a tooth is upsetting, but fixing the aesthetics of your smile is usually fairly straightforward. If it’s a tiny chip, we can often smooth it without additional treatment.

A larger chip may require dental bonding or even a porcelain veneer to conceal it. Some common reasons that teeth chip are:

  • A tooth weakened by decay
  • Habits like chewing ice or nail-biting
  • Teeth grinding or bruxism
  • Dental trauma or injury

Dr. Ferbinteanu will expertly repair the chip, get to the source of the problem, and provide the treatment you need to keep your teeth strong and healthy.

Which Is Right for Me—Veneers or Bonding?

Bonding and veneers correct aesthetic smile flaws, and, in many cases, we could choose either method to improve your smile.

When performing dental bonding, Dr. Ferbinteanu uses tooth-colored composite filling material and sculpts it to improve a tooth’s shape and size. Bonding is fast, affordable, non-invasive, and reversible because we don’t alter the tooth’s underlying structure.

Veneers are thin porcelain shells customized to cover the front surface of teeth to conceal aesthetic flaws. Because we alter the teeth to accommodate the veneers, the procedure is not reversible.

The method we choose depends on your smile goals, the aesthetic problem we need to address, your budget, and your timeline. You can count on Dr. Ferbinteanu to help you decide which is right for you.

What Cosmetic Problems Do Dental Crowns Fix?

Most patients know dental crowns restore a damaged tooth’s function and appearance. At Maple Dentistry Orlando, we also offer aesthetic dental crowns made of gold, all-porcelain, or zirconia.

Porcelain and zirconia crowns can be color-matched to surrounding teeth for a seamless appearance. Zirconia crowns are similar in appearance to porcelain but offer superior strength and durability.

Since a crown surrounds a tooth, we use them to:

  • Reshape a tooth to improve its appearance
  • Cover a misshapen or severely discolored tooth
  • Conceal and protect a cracked or broken tooth
