A 3-D computer creates a customized series of clear aligners to help straighten the teeth. Aligners are invisible, comfortable, and removable, but should only be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. Each set of aligners is worn for approximately 2 weeks. Teeth move gradually with each new aligner until they reach the proper positioning. Patients typically visit the office every 4-6 weeks to evaluate progress and receive their next series of aligners. While the average case time is 12-17 months, this time could be more or less dependent upon how much movement needs to take place.
