If you would like to enjoy excellent oral health, you need to be an active participant in your dental care. To do so, you need to ask questions so you can understand why we recommend a particular procedure and how it benefits your oral health.

We Want to Know What's on Your Mind

Often, a patient feels like they shouldn’t question their dentist’s recommendations. But Waterford Lakes dentist Dr. Gary Michaelson welcomes your questions so you can be fully informed about your treatment. When we work with you as a team, we can deliver results that address your concerns and help achieve your goal of a healthier smile.

If you want more information about a specific procedure, but aren’t sure what you should ask, here are a few sample questions to get you started:

  • Why do I need this treatment? Your dentist will explain the reason for your treatment, but if there’s any aspect of it that you don’t understand, ask.
  • What outcomes have you had with other patients? The odds are that your dentist has performed a particular procedure numerous times and should be able to help you understand how the results have benefitted other patients.
  • Can you share before and after photos? A picture is worth a thousand words! If you can’t envision how a proposed treatment will affect your smile, ask for before and after photos to see the actual results for yourself.

We want you to feel comfortable and confident with the decisions you make about your dental care. The easiest way we can help you achieve this is by answering any questions that are important to you.
