Cosmetic Bonding
Cosmetic bonding can be a great alternative to porcelain veneers in some cases. We can use bonding material for chipped, misshapen, discolored, cracked, or misaligned teeth During the procedure, the tooth is roughened up and the surface is conditioned. A bonding solution is placed an allowed to dry. Dr Michaelson will choose a custom shade of resin (white filling material) to sculpt your tooth. Once set, the excess is removed, smoothed, and polished to a natural appearance. This procedure is completed in a single office visit and can greatly improve the appearance of a tooth. Since the plastic resin material is not as strong as a natural tooth or a porcelain veneer, it’s chances of staining, chipping, and breaking is more likely. Bonding typically lasts three to five years before needing repair.
