Cosmetic Bondings

Before and After | Cosmetic Bonding in Orlando

Dental bonding is a cosmetic dentistry procedure in which a tooth-colored composite material is applied to a tooth, sculpted into shape, hardened, and polished. It’s called bonding because the material bonds to the tooth. Dental bonding is ideal for small cosmetic dentistry work, such as fixing a broken or chipped tooth. Composite materials may also be directly applied and sculpted to the surfaces of teeth that show most prominently when you smile, for minimally invasive smile makeovers.

The Bonding Process

Your dentist will first place a conditioning liquid to the surface of your teeth, which etches and roughens the surface to help the bonding material stay in place. The putty-like bonding material is then placed on the tooth’s surface, shaped, and sculpted. A special light is used to help the material harden and set. Finally, the composite is polished and buffed for a smooth finish.

Dental Bonding with Your Orlando Dentist

Dental bondings are among the easiest and least expensive of cosmetic dental procedures. Unlike veneers and crowns, which are customized tooth coverings that must be manufactured in a laboratory, bonding usually can be done in one clinic visit. Give us a call today to learn more.
